Well, I did it. I combined my order of mask fabric with dollmaking supplies. God only knows when they'll get here, but at least I have that to look forward to. (Don't ask me how late I stayed up last night designing them.)
Yay, my doll felt is already on its way! And I made two pieces of doll clothes this afternoon!

I cannot even tell you how much better my anxiety is now than yesterday, having committed to the project and started working on it. The CALMNESS.
Make that 3 pieces of clothes and most of a 4th! (Whose bright idea was it to use wool for a pattern designed for felt? Oh, mine? God, what an idiot. She's lucky I was here to fix it.)

...bracing for the dress I have to make entirely of gauze and sew seed beads all over...
Officially hashtagging my cabin-fever dollmaking #KushielsDolls. AND NOW YOU KNOW. Embroidering Phedre's marque is gonna be FUN.
You wanna see the clothes so far? OF COURSE YOU DO. Behold! Joscelin’s coat and pants and Hyacinthe’s shirt and waistcoat! (Hems deliberately unfinished until I can fit them on the dolls. The yellow marks on Joscelin’s coat will be eyelets to lace shut.) #KushielsDolls
Aaaaand I just found out that because of construction on one street in my neighborhood (NOT EVEN THE ONE I LIVE ON), the delivery truck can't get through to bring me my felt for #KushielsDolls. I am...honestly kinda gutted by that, guys. I am way more upset than I thought I'd be.
I coped by making as much as I could of Melisande’s Longest Night petticoat. (It’s a big black cotton sack, because I can’t hem or trim or put in elastic, but it was a lot of seam work, which at least kept me busy.) #KushielsDolls
Actually making these clothes instead of just reading about them has made me realize what a delightful hodgepodge D'Angeline fashion is. At one event, Melisande's in a strapless ballgown with a full skirt and Phedre's wearing a sheer slinky sheath with trailing sleeves.
Meanwhile high-society men wear hose and doublets, while Joscelin is always, always, *always* in his gray coat and pants, and Hyacinthe's over here wearing what-the-fuck-ever he wants, he's HYACINTHE, bitches.
And then Drustan arrives in his kilt and cloak and torque, and apparently THIS is the thing that weirds D'Angelines out? Like... okay, I mean, one lady paraded another one stark naked under gauze *last year,* but kilts and tattoos are where you draw the line? #KushielsDolls
I always pictured Terre d'Ange as Renaissance-adjacent, but now I'm not so sure. There are more medieval influences in here than I thought at first. (And I truly don't know where Melisande's strapless bodice came from.) It's been fun to reassess my mental imagery! #KushielsDolls
MY FELT ARRIVED! It’s a Passover miracle! And the order with stuffing shipped today!
