All my favorite dark skin female characters ☺️ (Thread)
Aunt Vivian Banks

Matriach of the Banks Family. Educated black queen. Refined. Elegant. Lavish. An extraordinary dancer. Woke af. Kind but stern with her children. Treated Will like her own son.

Played by Janet Hubert
THE Colandrea "Coco" Connors future esquire and president

Smarter than all her peers. Extremely disciplined and full of grit. She knows exactly what she wants and never settles for less. Always perfectly dressed!

Played by Antoinette Robertson on Dear White People ♡
Zora Greenleaf: Hairstyle Inspiration for days. Extremely sassy and confident. Plays by her own rules. Escaped an abusive relationship. Stubborn to a fault but genuinely loves her family.

Played by Lovie Simone (AND YALL GONE SEE HER AGAIN IN SELAH AND THE SPADES)
Josie McCoy of Josie and the Pussycats!

Josie is the lead singer and musician of her band. She is extremely confident and determined to follow her own path. She is the one who keeps her band focused and motivated. An amazing friend.

Played by Ashleigh Murray on Riverdale
Joelle Brooks: Aspiring Doctor & Microbiologist

Joelle is the support system for Reggie and Sam. She's the kind of person that listens w/o criticizing but doesn't hold back her honesty when asked. Hilarious. Witty. Top of her class. Woke af.

Played by Ashley Blaine Featherson
Annalise Keating: World Renowned Lawyer and Esteemed Professor.

Annalise is hungry to win. She is an artful mastermind usually 10 steps ahead. There is no length she won't go to protect those closest to her. Tough exterior but her heart is a rusted gold.

Played by Viola Davis
This was very shortlived but still relevant

Cassandra Kopelson on Emily M.D.

Emily was annoying protagonist and it was clear Cassandra was better than Emily in every way.

Played by Aja Naomi King
Kia Williams on All American

Kia is so well written and multifaceted. She cares about her community but also her future. She's also an amazing writer and community organizer. She takes action and leaves impact She's also so positive and kind.

Played by Asjha Cooper
I have no idea if it's still on air but I used to be OBSESSED w/ Michonne on The Walking Dead

When I think about strong female characters she's one of my Top 5. The amount of dedication, focus, and reserve it takes to even be a master swordsman is displayed in all her scenes.
Danai Gurira is beautiful! Like she doesnt even have to try. Michonne is amazing because she's intelligent, calculating, resourceful, and well prepared. I'm convinced she's the best character.
Nessa Parker on Empire!

They thought we were gonna forget her but she was eatting Tiana up! Sierra McClain bodied this role! Nessa never backed down. She showed up and owned her space at Empire and one the stage!
THE MISS ALEXANDRA CRANE!!!!! on @STAR

Ryan Destiny outshined one girl group to go slay another one. Star where!??!? This is an Alex Crane production. The best storyline. The best boyfriend. The best face. The best vocals. The best style. The best personality! PERIOD!!!!!!!
Jennifer Pierce on Black Lightning!

The most powerful pierce. Queen of Garfeild. I'm only on season 2 so she's still learning to control her powers and stuff but it's so cool! It's like she create energy, manipulate it, and project it as lightning bolts.

Chyna Anne Mcclain ♡
Issa on Insecure!

I identify with her character so much. She's a mess! I'm a mess! Bitches be messy! Damn! Besides being fucking hilarious. Issa tries to stay true her values and make a difference in her community and the lives of her friends.

It's Issa Rae duh.
Well I have to do Molly too. Even though she be driving me up the fucking wall!

Issa's main bitch. A ride or die. Powerful lawyer. Calling the shots and taking em neat. Equally as funny. Crazy as hell. Even though she's successful she has insecurities she's learning to overcome.
True Jackson VP!!!!!

I almost forgot that Keke Palmer's character invented fashion as the Vice President of a fashion company. Wow an establish business woman and icon. Your other Nickelodeon faves could never.
Toni Childs on Girlfriends

Ladies! Toni was a come up queen. Humble beginnings but the attitude of an uptown heiress. Toni knew her past was not her future. She manifested her own success as a real estate agent and (briefly) married some money!
