Alright Twitter. I need your help. Hear me out.

So I was on tiktok (great way to start a story, I know)

And this video, which is gaining many likes/views/comments popped up on my “for you” page. (Basically tiktok’s popular page)

I’ll let you read it’s caption first.

It’s only a matter of time before vids that are viral on tiktok make their way to other platforms.

And on the surface, it’s a VERY sweet video. But my gut was telling me something wasn’t right.

I felt like this was fake and I was really pissed tbh. I don’t know how much this man knew about the narrative being posted. I didn’t like that this boy asked for follows and likes.

But I stopped myself from jumping to conclusions and figured I should at least reach out to dude

I found him on IG. He’s an actor with a small following. I figured ok, let me dm him.

And while he saw my message and even started typing at one point. He didn’t respond to me yesterday.

This morning, he responded.

And just like the video, on the surface it seems nice, but my gut is in full alarm.

Call me crazy but I would think, if you’d like to raise awareness, maybe don’t fake like you gave dude a car. Maybe provide his info so other people can get a cut.

Also maybe don’t end your vid asking for likes and follows.

In the 450+ comments, all of which are praising him, I can’t find any where he says it’s fake, I only see him continuing the story line.

I don’t like this pandering or this charity clout chasing. & it being a Hispanic man who may actually need the help, it feels exploitive.

So Twitter, if you know this Barber, who I HOPE is named Jose or else we’re getting dangerously close to some racial stuff, please let me know.

This is an LA video and I saw one comment asking if this barber was from mid-city so maybe he is.

I want to help him. For real.

Oh I also let this kid know... I’m not telling you guys anything I didn’t tell him.
