So Jana at around 7pm her excellency started experiencing labor pains while we were told by the doctors to expect it MAYBE from 21st April.
She told me to jipanga while she was busy in the kitchen cooking like nothing is about to happen, but i kept seeing her writing some things in a book. Mimi I don’t know how it goes. Kumbe she was noting down each and every time pain was coming in.
So, While people we’re rushing to get at home, I was out there looking for an Ambulance. I managed to get a contact but their price was huko Sh. 9200.
I called a friend who has a red plate and they didn’t hesitate, He told me to give them like few minutes to confirm. And true to their words, they were outside our gate at around 20:00hrs.
He excellency walked to the car all by herself like nothing is happening, we packed a few clothes since we weren’t sure if it was the D day or false labor pain.
By around 20:30hrs, we were at the Maria Emmaculata along Gitanga Road, Few minutes to Valley Arcade. I went to their reception and was directed to their maternity wing.
We met a young lady who welcomed us asked a few questions then I was told to wait outside as they conducted some tests to confirm if she’s ready or it was just the usual “ false labor”.
Few minutes later, I was called back, told to go and pay some amount, immediately we paid, they called the receptionist that we should hold our money since there was a new development. I want back to maternity ward a bit confused but strong 💪.
Mans was told that since the baby is coming earlier before the expected time, she could come under weight and since they don’t have some facilities, They were going to refer us to a hospital of our choice for our baby to grow.
I panicked, But I was told to consult first. I called my Brother and my sister and we agreed. Went back to them and gave them the ‘ Go a head. This was about 9:15pm. My friend and the wife are outside asking what’s happening?
So because of this ugly disease called Covid-19, We told to sit huko inje kwa parking. Laughing with my friends but deep down, I am not okay. I have mixed reactions. Shit is about to get real.
So I gathered some strength, I called my Mum and My Father In-law but My Mother In-law received. I told them what’s happening and I was told to expect. My Mum told me “ That Baby will Okay, same words I was told my Mother Inlaw. And that they’re praying.
I also called my childhood friend Alphonse. He told me to be strong and that I should let him know what the outcome will be.
Around 21:30hrs, We could here a baby crying, I didn’t know if that was my baby or not, stormed inside the ward but I was pushed outside. Nobody talked to me. I was told to wait outside and that they’d call once they were done.
Hear*
This is where shit got real, I didn’t know how to react. I didn’t know what to expect. I was just there. Few minutes later the security lady called me.
I rushed inside to the office since I didn’t the ward number. Those nurses told me that she’s delivered well and our BOUNCING BABY GIRL WAS ALSO OKAY.
That was stout 22:00hrs. Went to see them, they were okay but her excellency was hungry, so we had to go back home to get them food. All shops were closed. And the Police were chasing people out there. Wueh.
We reached home took Milk and we went back to the hospital. We finished and we were home by around 23:00hrs.
Woke up in the morning, went to see them, By 10am we’re discharged. They’re home. Safe and Sound. To our friends I know you’re reading this. God Bless You. Isn’t this God? What more can a man ask for? And we don’t have a name for her yet. Suggestions.END
