holly jolly secrets, part 2

the first & arguably biggest turning point of adventure time. it gave us a concrete glimpse into the gradually revealed lore of the show, & laid the foundation for one of the best character arcs ever written. still get chills listening to simon's tale
what was missing

a feel-good song from a notable feel-good episode. set up the dynamic of the key relationships in the show. the episode that pioneered bubbline!!
i remember you

possibly the most tragic relationship in any piece of western animation. this was the episode that changed the game, the episode that had us hooked with a new level of emotional attachment. i don't think i've ever been able to watch this scene without crying
incendium

this song made my 12 year old heart weep and still hits too close too home. i'm sure finn's experience resonates with a lot of people
princess cookie

this is one of those scenes so typical to adventure time, where such a dark theme is thrown in so naturally that it throws you off and you think about it for years afterwards
simon & marcy

if i could i would post this entire episode here. this ep haunted me when i was younger and left my stomach in knots and that feeling follows me today. this scene is particularly harrowing as we witness through song the exact moment the crown overtakes simon's mind
puhoy

this is an episode that leaves me feeling strangely warm yet unsettled at the same time. adventure time managed to capture so well that feeling of time stretching over a lifetime that is so vivid in your dreams, yet so quickly forgotten when you're removed from it
shh!

this scene always makes me giggle. it nails the sibling dynamic so well i love finn and jake an unreasonable amount 🥺
lemonhope part 2

this song is one of those that sits and bubbles at the pit of your stomach. it's melancholic and haunting in the way adventure time executes best. seeing the state of the 1000+ land also puts me in so much unease
billy's bucket list

SUCH a standout season finale. i'm sure we all remember how we felt upon hearing the words "your father, finn. he's alive." and seeing martin's silhouette, after years of knowing absolutely nothing about finn's past
escape from the citadel

one of the most heartbreaking scenes of the show. when shelby silently lays down and cries on finn's thigh i just want to bawl. some people never change
the tower

this episode is such a testament to how good a friend princess bubblegum is to finn. she pretended to be his deadbeat father so finn could take his anger out on the fake martin, and begin on the path that would ultimately make him realise that violence does not heal
jake the brick

one of the most dearly loved episode of the entire series. it's so immersive in the way you feel you're just another inhabitant of ooo, listening to jake's commentary. my go-to episode for feeling cozy and solaced
ok ill continue this after the livestream we haven’t even gotten to the real juicy stuff yet
