Yeah if only all that awful COBOL code had been rewritten in a nice modern language like ADA we wouldn't have these problems
Rewriting code that's fit for purpose would definitely never be interpreted as entirely unnecessary government spending
Look if this had all been reimplemented in C at some point the world would be in an actively worse place
