This quarantine has given me the time to re-listen to the Balance arc of @TheZoneCast and it has reminded of a lot of the good things that we can take away from the story that @griffinmcelroy @travismcelroy @JustinMcElroy @DocCurm made for us, especially right now. #thezonecast

We are in a time unlike any other, one that most, if not all, people have never experienced. We are facing a force of destruction and despair that is doing its best to isolate us and drive us into a dark place. It is something that was unexpected and that we weren’t prepared for.

But it is in these dark and isolating times that we must remember that there is power in the bonds that we make. These are the bonds we’ve created with our favorite song, or a delicious meal, or a good book, or with the people who have shaped our lives in so many unexpected ways.

These bonds are our greatest tool against darkness and isolation. We must cling to these bonds with every fiber of our being, and we must strive to find joy in all these things that make us connected. While we can’t physically connect right now, we can still find ways to connect.

Video chat with your friends! Listen to your favorite playlist! Read your favorite book! Make that meal you love! And most of all, share these things with others! Social media can be toxic at times, but it can also be a powerful tool for connecting with the world around us.

Tweet about your favorite music, or that book you’ve really been enjoying, or that meal that you’re really proud of yourself for making! Find the things that bring you joy, and put that joy out into the world! Joy and connection are amazing parts of life, and they are so needed.

There are a lot of people who feel isolated and alone right now. Let’s do our part in trying to keep them connected and to bring them some joy that they might desperately need. This is an opportunity for the world to stand together and lift each other up.

We must choose joy and connection, not despair and division. Be a source of joy in someone’s life today. Together, we will make it through this darkness, because those bonds make us stronger than we could ever hope to be on our own. Let’s choose joy together!
