So, something that’s been on my mind that I really worry about moving forwards for our young people. It’s how this period of lockdown is going to impact on how we process things. My grandma died a few days ago (I’m fine, not a sympathy tweet) but dealing with it has been weird1/n
Weird because it’s like it’s not happened. I’ve not seen my family. I’ve not really talked about it. I’ve not missed her because I wouldn’t be seeing her as it is. The funeral will be very strange. Now, I’m a mentally healthy adult. I can work my way through this. But...2/n
Our young people won’t find this easy to navigate. And sadly, lots of them are going to have a level of grief in their lives the next time we see them. How do we help them, whenever that might be? I don’t know right now, but if anyone has any bright ideas, please share them. 3/n
Because every school, every teacher, will have to navigate this and I truly believe we need to pool our professionalism at a time of national emergency like this. So if you have any thoughts, you’re making plans, you’re enlisting outside agencies, please share them. 4/n
I honestly believe that we can do a world class job of supporting our young people, but that’s going to be a national effort. Don’t estimate the power of sharing your ideas and experiences. I’d love to hear them https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="👇🏻" title="Down pointing backhand index (light skin tone)" aria-label="Emoji: Down pointing backhand index (light skin tone)">https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="👇🏻" title="Down pointing backhand index (light skin tone)" aria-label="Emoji: Down pointing backhand index (light skin tone)">https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="👇🏻" title="Down pointing backhand index (light skin tone)" aria-label="Emoji: Down pointing backhand index (light skin tone)"> and maybe it might just make me worry a bit less! 5/5
