Look Phantom Menace isn’t a great movie but imagine if they just fully leaned into making it a political movie with some space stuff, ep 2 is the love story, and ep 3 being turn of anakin
Duel of Fates is such a fantastic piece of music. A true cinematic masterpiece. And it’s intercut by scenes of Jar-Jar stumbling his way around the battlefield.
Of course who could forget incredible bits of dialogue such as “I’ll try spinning that’s a cool trick”
IT WAS TRULY A DUEL OF FATES BECAUSE IF QUI-GON HAD WON THE REST MOST LIKELY WOULDN’T HAVE HAPPENED AND WE COULD HAVE AVOIDED THE SHEEV PALPATINE THAT FUCKS
Episode 1 had GREAT characters
Did everyone else forget Anakin’s first kill was the entire Trade Federation ship when he blew it up accidentally??? Cause I did
Honestly Sheev’s political maneuvering was very brilliant despite the plot holes. Like he managed to disrupt a GALAXY WIDE government system that was 25,000 years old and circumvented the Jedi Order
More politics in ep 2 and I have to remind myself what this devolves to (the worst and most tragic love story of all time)
Hayden Christianson did nothing wrong and was casted perfectly change my mind
Probably going to be taking my nap during Attack of the Clones because there is very little redeemable qualities outside of the cast
Also how did Padme, Queen of Democracy, fall in love with Anakin the Anarchist
Finally hit the only redeeming part of Attack of the Clones: the mass CGI light saber battle on Geonosis
Just force push the droids idk why this needed to be the stand off it did
The Skywalker twins get all their sense from their mother
We are on to Episode III: Revenge of the Sith as part of our family Star Wars marathon aka the best of the prequels
I’ve read the novelization of Revenge of the Sith that’s based off of the script and it’s so GOOD it gives you a much better idea of what’s going on and Anakin’s internal struggle I highly recommend it
On the downside I’ve read it so many times that I know shot for shot what’s going to happen so I will be less inclined to pay attention other than my favorite parts and also completely IGNORE how bad they did Padme in this one

I miss the novelization during the more dull parts of this movie like Padme and Anakin staring out at the city through windows while Master Windu goes to confront Palpatine
Like with the way they characterized Anakin’s boldness he probably just would have TAKEN the chancellor with him to the council instead of WAITING or maybe like killed him and been like grant me rank of master now
