Thread on Jeffrey Okudah:
Even through the motion and the traffic underneath, Okudah as the recovering speed and play recognition to undercut this route on 4th down.
Really fluid hips to mirror routes vertically and plays sticky coverage in man, keeping his hand on the WR.
In zone coverage, Okudah does a great job of recognition route combinations and overlapping zone responsibilities. Okudah picks up the inside receiver running over the top seamlessly.
At the catch point, Okudah is always playing the hands to disrupt the catch. This one may have been slightly early though.
Okudah is able to cover bigger WR's, like Tee Higgins, using his physicality and his length to deflect passes.
Okudah does a nice job of using the sideline to prevent this catch.
Even when you think your receiver is open, he's not with Okudah.
When the receiver does make the catch initially, Okudah does a great job of winning late at the catch point. He is always looking to lodge the ball out.
Again this looks like a TD, but Okudah is actually able to get his hand on the ball to pry it out.
The only slight knock on Okudah is that he isn't the greatest tackler. He often does just enough to make the tackle.
However, this doesn't mean Okudah is afraid of contact.
