17 things I learned before I turn 17:
@taylornation13 @taylorswift13 It& #39;s only 2 days before I& #39;m 17, so inspired by Taylor, I decided to list 17 things I& #39;ve learned before I turn 17!!!
@taylornation13 @taylorswift13 It& #39;s only 2 days before I& #39;m 17, so inspired by Taylor, I decided to list 17 things I& #39;ve learned before I turn 17!!!
1. I& #39;ve learned that I need to cut the toxic people out of my life. Life is too short and too happy to always chase the wrong people and try to make them happy. Real friends and family care for you and love you no matter what you do
2. Like Taylor said, be kind to people; it is a wonderful legacy to leave behind. I& #39;ve learned that I should always be kind to people, no matter how rude they are back. In the end, people will remember me as trying to be nice when others weren& #39;t.
3. Baking is a lot of fun. I& #39;ve gotten to bake a lot during this quarantine, including bread and it has been really therapeutic for me. I love doing it and hope to pursue it as a hobby.
4. Words...words are literally like a sword. They can pierce a heart just as easily. I am learning to control my words both as I speak and as I write. I think words are also really magical
5. I know now that it is okay to fail. Too many times I have criticized myself for not being perfect and I got tired of it. It is human to err and I need to live with it. It will take time to learn and to set it in my brain, but I am getting there.
6. I don& #39;t care if people think I am ugly. Yeah, I am fat, I know that. But I am working on becoming better; I exercise more, I am eating healthier. I don& #39;t really care what people say about me, and I am trying hard not to let it get to me as much as it used to.
7. I fear that I will never live up to the expectations that my parents have set for me. Every day I try hard to focus on what I need to do to get better and to make a future out of myself. It is hard, and it takes discipline, but I am determined. I will make them proud
8. I& #39;ve learned how to cook! I can make tea, toast, and a lot of Indian meals. This quarantine is really helping me with that!!
9. I& #39;ve learned to say sorry even when it isn& #39;t my fault. If it really matters to me, I have to set it right. It sometimes gets hard to be the bigger person, but I value my friends and family over my ego.
10. Eating healthy is hard. But I wanna look nice and thin. I am getting there by finding really fun recipes to try and make at home. It also feels good to eat a salad over pasta sometimes!
11. I used to not understand people of the LGBTQ+ community. I grew up knowing nothing about it. It was only last year that I started questioning myself and learning about the community. People are amazing, they are there for you and I have really just loved that so much
12. There are things I wish I could have changed from when I was younger. I want to be a better version, a clean slate. I know it isn& #39;t possible. But I am trying my hardest to recreate my own image for the best.
13. Lying is NOT cool. I learned to lie and I know everyone& #39;s gonna hate me for this. But I am trying to rid of that and always be honest. Who cares if someone gets mad over the truth? It& #39;s better than covering it up and getting on trouble later for it.
14. Swifties are truly the best kind of people. Okay, this may be biased lol. But I have seen so much kindness and positivity radiating from this fandom. You& #39;re always quick to defend other Swifties and Taylor herself. You& #39;ve shown me that kindness always wins.
15. Finding happiness takes time. It is not easy; "the road gets hard when you& #39;re led by blind faith"
But I choose to find happiness in everything, even when I don& #39;t want to. I try to find gratitude in people who have hurt me. I thank God, my friends, my family, every day.

16. Laugh at the haters. If you can& #39;t bring them down, laugh at their stupidity. I am awesome, you& #39;re awesome. Bullies aren& #39;t. So leave them alone and laugh at their ignorance.
17. Hold on to the memories they will hold on to you. I always want to cherish memories with my close friends and family, however I choose to save them. I can& #39;t wait to see what this next chapter in my life brings!
