I& #39;m often asked what new apps I& #39;m playing around with. People think that because I work in mobile, it& #39;s going to be something wacky.
Sorry to disappoint, but it& #39;s usually something straightforward and just really well thought out. Here& #39;s one I love at the moment..

I& #39;m in love with the @github app for iOS and iPadOS. https://apps.apple.com/gb/app/github/id1477376905">https://apps.apple.com/gb/app/gi...
I& #39;m a child at heart. If your app lets me choose its icon, I& #39;m gonna love you forever. You can be a serious app but still let a little playfulness shine through.
I experimented with "Karaoke Fantasy" at first, but I& #39;m "Midnight Fantasy" at heart. Make of that what you will.

The home screen is simple, but nicely designed. It& #39;s not bog standard, but follows conventions I can grasp immediately.
Everything I need to get hold of is in easy reach of my thumb; my repos, my issues, my notifications. Exactly what you want on the go.

I like the thought that& #39;s gone into issue lists. They& #39;ve been considerate about what info is exposed after the repo, issue number, and title. The context of where I am in the app signals my intent, and they adapt to it.
For how we& #39;re/I& #39;m using Github, they nailed it.

They& #39;ve made the content and conversation of an issue the main focus. 100% where the attention needs to be, imho.
I love two things here:
1. They haven& #39;t hidden additional options (eg. labels) behind a bloody hamburger menu. Easy to get into and get out of. Natural.

2. They& #39;ve nodded to the web experience of looking at an issue from within a project, but made it feel appropriate for iOS.
Creating consistency between a web experience and learned mobile behaviours/expectations is HARD.
I bet there was lots of exploration. Would love to see!

I love this.. the sheet has little scroll controls. Why do I love this? It makes it waaaay easier to scroll through the conversation one-handed without triggering the sheet accidentally.
On support.. I hate it when apps just fire open an email. It& #39;s bad, and it breaks on iOS if you& #39;re not using the Mail app.
Now, Github does do this
