I (sometimes) wish I was on good terms with my Liberal relatives.
Would call up right now and offer my condolences.

It's a very strange coincidence, those relatives that I find sensible in private matters are all Bhakts.

Those that I abhor for their south Delhi mentality, their dhong adambar, their Texan-Manhattan English accents... Are also liberals.

I've not found a single exception to this rule, and I mean it. In fact, the more I dislike some relative for personal reasons, the more I've seen them become anti Modi.
It's really very weird.

I've never asked this here.
Does anyone else have a similar situation in the larger family/clan??
