1. What are your motives?
I wanted to be free so I can fulfill my “destiny”, and not get “exposed” when big like many other preachers did.
My motives were wrong.
God rebuked me.
You must want to be free because you see how your sin hurts the heart of God and those around you.

When your motives to be free are “me me me, I, I, I, then it is not godly sorrow which leads to repentance.
When pride and self preservation are your motives for freedom, then you’ll never be free.

2. WHY do you sin?
The enemy has a strategy. He knows when best to tempt you.
For me it was whenever I was stressed out, overwhelmed, and felt as if the world was against me.
DONT FIGHT BLINDLY!!!!
Learn yourself; study what actually goes on in your mind whenever you succumb.

Don’t fight the symptom, find and destroy the root of it!
Many of us have mother/father wounds. We attempt to fill those voids with lust because it’s a temporary fix.
Ask God to reveal yourself to you!
Let Him heal those wounds.

3. Maybe you like it.
We mainly do things we enjoy. Whether it’s the act or the relief afterwards, lust is “pleasurable”.
Search your heart. Be honest with yourself. If you like it, then you must pray that God put a HATRED for sin in your heart.

Many people remain in bondage because they are in a delusion. They play victim when in actuality they love what they do.
It’s okay to admit that you enjoy it.
Repeat after me: “I enjoy this sin, but I know that me enjoying it is wrong. God help me hate the things you hate.”

Some people are bound by the law. You WANT to commit those sins but you feel as though God is “restricting” you. This only leads to behavior modification which is VERY different from genuinely freedom.
You need to repent and pray God softens your heart.

Many people who struggle with lust only spend their prayer time begging God to deliver them.
This is wrong.
God has given YOU power to rebuke and cast out all powers of the enemy!
USE YOUR AUTHORITY!

Gods grace is His power ! It flows through us, enabling us to stand upright with righteous anger and cast the devil out!
Those who never address demons directly always struggle in one way or the other.
Don’t let bad theology and false humility stop you from being free.

5. Jesus has made you free.
Through the death of Christ, we have power over lust. Your Christianity doesn’t have to be a roller coaster.
You can be whole.
Free from sin.
Free from past pains.
Free from guilt/shame.
You’re not fighting alone.
Jesus has won the war.

Pray, fast, and fill yourself with the Word of God. Pray to be intimate with Jesus and to know Him more.
Give up that music, let go of those negative influences in your life.
Make whatever sacrifices are necessary for your freedom.
Make GOD your priority.

It’s my prayer that today is the day you decide to conquer lust. I pray that God give you the revelation and insight needed to be victorious. That His grace would empower you, and His love motivate you.
I pray that you come to HATE sexual sin and love Jesus even more.
