Things I've learnt about myself in lock-down that I didn't necessarily know before hand

1. I actually watch very little TV under normal circumstances
A follow up from 1.

2. Staying out of Quadrant 4 [not urgent, not important] has been easier to do than I thought it was going to be

Now all I need to do is to get junior thinking the same way - School has sent plenty work to be completed
3. Maths is NOT like riding a bike - you can forget how to do it

Despite having cracked a Higher Grade distinction in Maths many years ago and having an Engineering degree, I find myself on the internet relearning Grade 11 Maths
4. I've never considered myself as a hoarder but this lock down has shown me that I have a lot of unnecessary "stuff"

I doubt I would ever have gotten around to cleaning out if it was not for these 5 weeks
5. Tweeting about how easy it is staying out of Q4 a week into a 5 week lockdown was naive

Staying in Q1 and Q2 and out of Q4 has been harder and harder to do. The magnet in Q4 is massive and it requires enormous discipline not to be sucked in
6. I'm more skilled with a set of electric Wahl clippers in my hands than I thought I'd be.

Having your 16 year old son, who like most 16 year olds is obsessed with his hair, say "good job Dad" after a hair cut this morning was very satisfying
7. I caught a repeat episode of Miami Vice on SABC during the week [refer to point 5 and staying out of quadrant 4]

I have absolutely no idea how I could have enjoyed this series so much in the late 80's & early 90's

And a white Testarossa? What was Sonny thinking?
8. I never get tired of lighting a fire and braaing.

I loaded up with A LOT of wood before the lock down started and stopped counting when we had braai number 20 [ a week or 10 days ago]

I thought I may grow tired of braaing - but apparently not
9. It's been a while since I visited this thread about things I've learnt about myself during lock-down ...

I have realised I can easily do with A LOT less. Less of almost everything. Lock-down has shown me excesses in my life and has been the perfect opportunity to adjust these
