Day 6: a song your family played around the house
Day 7: a song that energizes you. In high school I used to listen to this song before swim meets (lol). This song is a unique blend of hard rock and reggae
Day 8: a song you like that’s used in a movie. I LOVE the way this song is used as a theme that develops over the course of Jordan Peele’s Us
Day 9: this song makes me feel like... well it’s in the title
Day 10: a song that tells a story. This song beautifully tells a story of a man caught in a vicious cycle of waking up hungover, wasting away a day, then going out to a bar where he’s in love with a bartender- too afraid to make a move, he just orders more drinks
Day 11: a song that makes you cry. This one by @boguesdude hits me right in the feels. AJ has a gift for putting hard to describe feelings to song. Something about sharing these sentiments and knowing AJ personally, make this song a perfect cocktail to have a cathartic cry to.
Day 12: a song you like to sing at karaoke. I don’t really like karaoke, because I sorta do it for a living- but if I was forced to do a song that isn’t “Tequila,” I would would do this. The melody is like 3 notes and everyone sings along. Always slaps at a cover band gig.
Day 13: A song you like from the 60s. This cover is perfect. Truly an improvement from the original- virtuosic guitar playing, soulful vocals, and influential style.
Day 13: a song you like from the 70s. This song is ICONIC. I had to pick something from the psychedelic funk scene. Not many songs can get away with jamming on the same 2 bar loop for 12 min, but Parliament sure can. Song SLAPS. One of the funkiest synth bass lines of all time.
Day 13 (part 3): a song you like from the 80s. This song is really interesting and intelligent pop arranging. The 3 on 4 rhythmic feel, guitar lead breaks, instrumental section, and songwriting make this song a certified BOP.
Day 14: a song you like that uses an unconventional instrument. This man is playing the pancakes in this one.
