A quick thread on why the words you hear from B.C. officials about #COVID19 might soon sound a little bit different than the words you hear from Canadian officials.
Here are cumulative confirmed cases of COVID-19 in B.C., Ontario and Quebec over the last ten days.

Ontario has increased their cases by 323%, and Quebec has increased by 330%.

B.C. has increased by 66%.
"Okay, but every province has a slightly different testing regimen, I know a friend's cousin who has COVID-19 and wasn't tested, I don't trust those numbers," you say.

Here are COVID-19 hospitalizations in Canada's three biggest provinces.

The difference is even more stark.
As we all know, things can change quickly. People in B.C. still have to be extremely vigilant, and that will be the case for a while.

But in a week from now, the conversation about where "Canada" is and where "British Columbia" is could be pretty divergent.
It's not a case of "British Columbia exceptionalism," it's a case of "we hear every day in B.C. from provincial officials AND federal officials, and there's evidence to suggest their messages could soon be slightly different." https://twitter.com/funnierhandle/status/1246845964880613378
