One of my former students i advises wanted to chat today about how to manage the remainder of their semester with everything going on.

They proceed to tell me one of their professors said that the final will be harder because the students are at home and will have access to notes and the book.

I legit said “are u fucking kidding me?! That’s disgusting”

Professors of undergrads: your students aren’t just CHILLING at home, they’re freaking out! This particular student is MILES away from their family because they couldn’t get back home. How dare u as a professor say: well I’m gonna make this test super hard.

You’re punishing them for something that’s literally out of their control.

Professors like that disgust me. You don’t care your students. You don’t even care if they’re learning.

So on top of them worried about their family and their health and the world being a dumpster fire, they now have to worry because their professor is intentionally making the class harder because they believe they’re just chilling at home.
