As people lament the failures of people in federal govt, state govt & local govt, it is clear that the big lesson will be lost: Overdependency on and expectations for government overall.

Govt, by design, cannot succeed at the things many now expect of it...

The more false security from assuming govt will be there / govt will fix things, the less likely people are to do the things necessary to care and prepare themselves...

And the more things asked of govt, the less it is able to focus on the handful of things it should be doing and do them well.
