This Kaiser report on rural healthcare and the coronavirus shows how vulnerable Iowa. There are 15 counties where 30% or more of the population is greater than 60 years old. In those 15 counties there are a total of 159,871 people and just 8 ICU beds.

According to Kaiser's report, 9 counties in Iowa do not have a hospital. Right now in those counties there are 53 cases of coronavirus reported.
