You can calculate the odds of any combination of two dice and compare it against the payout offered, you can understand with exact precision your percentage disadvantage at a craps table. You will lose money playing craps. That's what (normally) keeps the lights on at those big casinos. But you will lose money fully armed with information. A scam is someone deceiving you with informational asymmetry.
