A week ago, I wrote that Democrats were insane to write Trump a blank check to fight coronavirus without imposing any serious legal constraints on how the money is spent. They literally impeached him this winter for manipulating aid payments for personal political gain.
The bill the Senate passed wasn't a half-measure. It wasn't the best Democrats could do in a bad situation. It was a simultaneously reckless and lazy act that the country will pay for with thousands of lives.
