Turning away from the church/organized religion is not the same as turning away from God. Let’s start there.

There was literally a pastor trying to charge people $125 for COVID-19 tests that were donated to them for free. Forgive me if I can’t get jiggy with that shit.

A lot of churches prey on the poor and much of what is taught there is riddled with misogyny and prejudice for people who are different. Spare us.

And PLEASE don’t start that “you have to find the right church” BS. That’s part of the issue. Instead of putting the onus on the individuals to do trial and error at the risk of constantly being disappointed you should be calling the church out to do better.

I say all of this to say do what feels right for you. As my granny says: These people don’t have a heaven nor hell to put you in.
