Stephen L. Miller says he is "not a Trump supporter.” Which is a thing you say when you want to carry on serving the Trump administration’s interests with literally every tweet you compose … without the guilt-inducing opprobrium of actually being pegged as a Trump supporter.
I just have one question: If God were to switch out our Stephen L. Miller for a Stephen L. Miller who is exactly the same but is *also* a Trump supporter, how would he behave any differently than he does now?
If your answer is:
"Well, the new one votes for Trump whereas the old one doesn& #39;t" ...
... allow me to suggest to you that one’s private vote, or one& #39;s private political identification, can have zero bearing on their public-facing identity.

... allow me to suggest to you that one’s private vote, or one& #39;s private political identification, can have zero bearing on their public-facing identity.
And let me further suggest that one’s private vote is meaningless when it comes to characterizing their role within the political discourse.
When you devote 100% of your tweets to beating back Trump’s critics, you are qualitatively indistinguishable from a Trump supporter.

Matt Jameson ( @roguenotary) once made this point really well in our pages.
