okay so this is how i learn korean ; a thread (??? ifjdjdjss) QUOTE DONT REPLY https://twitter.com/namustsuki/status/1246429811528077312
so first: hangul. when i first learned it took me a week?? to memorize it but probably a month to get used to sounds and etc. i watched videos at first and then i started to read korean childern books for comprehension
VIDEO: (really common lmao)
secondly, romanization. i really have mixed emotions about it. it can either help you or fuck up ur whole learning experience. romanization is really helpful when you are first learning the alphabet and a little into vocabulary! but after that just drop it. romanization and+
hangul isn’t the same thing. they both have different sounds. for example, with ‘ㄹ’. ‘ㄹ’ has too different sounds but it can be often written as ‘S’ or ‘L’ when it isn’t supposed to be. (i hope that made sense if you need more explanation just dm me!)
moving on, know the difference between speech levels early!!
trust me it’ll help you better later on. it’s really easy to point out tbh. the most common use of formal speech you’ll see is ‘요’ https://www.slideshare.net/mobile/reemJ3/korean-speech-levels

sentence
structure
!! learning this early is also VERY helpful. you don’t wanna get into learning full on sentences and everything is placed differently and once you translate it on your own it turns out to be; i korean learn (did that even make fucking sense?)

the korean sentence structure is; subject - object - verb. if you practice it enough it’ll become easy trust me https://www.koreanlanguageguide.com/basic-korean-sentence-structures/
