How to study/do your course work while being in quarantine, a guide by yours truly: https://twitter.com/tiredselma/status/1246795139168768000">https://twitter.com/tiredselm...
- First of all, it’s normal to feel more tired and demotivated! The crisis we’re going through it’s pretty tough mentally on a lot of people so understand that we’re all in this together !!

- First of all when you wake up in the morning try to keep the routine you usually would on a normal day: dress with normal clothes and don’t stay in your pj! I saw with myself that if I just stay with sleeping clothes the feel of going back to sleep or chill it’s way stronger
- if possible, don’t study in your room. I know the bed is there and it looks so fucking great but if you put yourself in your kitchen or living room sitting on an actual chair instead of the sofa or your bed it’s gonna help a lot !!
- its okay to not be able to do the same amount of work! Don’t push yourself to do the same load you would be able to do if things were different! Especially if you can’t do anything atm try to put yourself to really small goals: nothing it’s too little. N O T H I N G
I understand that we all have a lot to do, and maybe now it takes a day to do the work you would normally do in an hour. But a win is a win is a win. Getting small work done is better than none !

- Don’t plan a schedule too strictly! Personally having a strict schedule makes me feel bad, and trying to rationalise how much I have to do in order makes everything look too big and complicated. We can’t solve all our problems in one go: ask yourself which work/subject has a
priority and why (closest deadline) and concentrate on that one only. Having 5 subject to take seems a lot, but if you take it one by one it’s gonna look less workload in your mind!
- if you can, try to skype/video call someone who also has work to do. In a certain way you’ll be encouraging each other to work, and it feels less lonely and tiring! Also, talking now and then while studying/working it’s gonna make the whole isolation situation we’re living
Less isolating! Also: it makes total sense to drift off! We’re all mentally exhausted so this is way you should put small goals and try to help not only your degree but yourself!
- Take breaks! Lot of them! If everything it’s getting hard make a cup of tea and relax a little! It’s okay to take breaks and you /should/ take a day off ! Working every single day personally gets exhausting and I work better if I’m more relaxed
- do your coursework in the afternoon! In the morning try to relax however you please and in the evening chill again. Working while the sun is out and more people are available to call/talk it’s what for me works best! Studying completely alone with no interaction with anyone
will make the hours seem longer and more tiring and you’ll feel like giving up more and more. If you did 2-3 hours of work in the afternoon you will be way more productive (and that comes from a certified procrastinator!)
Finally, not getting the grade you wanted will not be the end of the world. Maybe it will feel like it, but it won’t. Earlier you’re gonna take care of yourself first earlier you will be able to go back to a “normal routine”!
