Candace Owens rant about the Connecticut infant’s cause of death should be interrogated as nothing other than initial efforts to craft a narrative that the death rate is not as high as it is.

When this is over, Republicans will be assaulting the statistical facts of the crisis.
The left broadly lets its disdain for the media get in the way of its understanding of the media.

What Owens is doing has less to do with the facts surrounding this specific case and more to do witb creating an environment of plausible distrust of reality.
The more we engage with the micro-elements of the story, the more we miss the bigger picture.
By the time we’ve exhausted ourselves arguing over the finer points of what did and did not happen, the damage has already been done. Owens will not suffer if she is proven wrong some weeks or months later.
