I’d love to be able to go for a walk in the park or a bike ride like my friends in the UK, but I actually believe the full lockdown we’ve experienced in Spain for weeks is effective in protecting hospital beds. We mostly live in smaller spaces and I’m sick of all your whinging.
I’ve seen posts saying it’s impossible to get exercise in London unless people go to parks because it’s so densely populated. Barcelona is over 3x more densely populated. You can stay home, we’re managing (with a two year-old no less).
I’m trying to stay positive here but on this point I have never been annoyed but a majority of London-based commentators who I usually consider to be like-minded and reasonable. I think, ethically, you should be staying home whenever possible, whether the state forces you or not.
Also, not saying that the UK gov hasn’t handled this whole thing horribly, or that it isn’t blaming the public to divert attention from their horrendous ineptitude in handling the pandemic. But that’s not what I’m talking about here.
