Is 5G tower installation connected with the spread of Covid-19?

This was the question that danced through my mind as I listened to various audios messages currently in circulation, buttressing the idea that indeed there is a correlation between 5G Tower installation and Covid-19

As an health care enthusiast and IT professional, I decided to dip.

There is the need to scrutinize all the presenting ‘facts’ for documented evidences rather than being hooked up only with the sensitized messages received by our Amygdala-that part of the limbic system of our brains, involved with emotions and reactions to stimuli.

There is a video that is real: it showed people in China pulling down a 5G tower, in an attempt to stop the spread of coronavirus disease. This video went viral when actor Woody Harrelson shared it on Instagram on April 1, 2020.

While the video document is a real incident, sadly to note that it was not filmed in 2020 at all. It was actually filmed around August 2019 before the outbreak of Covid-19 in Wuhan, China.

The footage actually took place in Hong Kong when anti-surveillance protesters took to the streets to tear down surveillance tower which the people suspected would be used by China to collect their personal information.

How this video became doctored to ‘capture’ Covid-19 pandemic in Wuhan is really fascinating, appalling and highly misleading. I also saw the video of Chris Oyakhilome connecting the dots between COVID19, 5G and vaccines and I can only laugh about it.

While it is indeed true that China, the UK and other countries have started installing 5G towers while Covid-19 is spreading in those countries, suggesting a correlation, and implied causation cannot be substantiated, why? 5G has been in test as early as April 2019.

Telcos across America introduced the experiment 5G in selected cities as early as July 2019, why wasn’t there any outbreak of COVID19 in this selected cities across the USA?

Germany and South Korea had their 5G towers installed earlier in April 2019? If indeed the rolling out of 5G towers is wrecking havoc as actually implied a causation, then we should have expected this disease being reported much earlier in Germany and S.Korea.

That this was not the case shows there is no causation and the mere implication of a correlation does not necessary imply a causation until it is backed up by evidence and solid science, not speculation and wild orgies of imagination or conspiracy theory.

Facts, Covid-19 is a pathogen belonging to a large family of single stranded RNA viruses isolated from different animal specials that has the capacity to cross species barriers to cause untold harm to the system.

Under the microscope Covid-19 has a crown-like appearance that situate it’s spike protein on the envelope, hence it’s name corona (Latin term for crown). It was first discovered about Nov/Dec 2019, it was giving the acronym Covid-19 which stands for ‘coronavirus disease 2019’.

Transmission:
While the 1st cases of Covid-19 disease were linked to exposure in the Huanan Seafood Wholesale Market of Wuhan, China, current mechanism involved animal to human transmission, human to human transmission with symptomatic people as the most frequent source of spread

Pathophysiology:
In order not to become bogged down with the technicalities of medical jargons, suffice to say that the spike glycoproteins of this pathogens enables it to bind to receptors known as ACE2 which are found in the lungs, kidneys, hearts-to mention but few.

ACE2 is ‘angiotensin converging enzyme 2, angio- (relating to blood vessels) tensin 2 (having strong effects on vessels and also important mediator of renal sodium retention).

ACE2 raises the blood pressure when the need arises by causing the vessel to constrict, or increase renal sodium retention that would attract water to increase blood volume, hence BP.

This mechanism has been over simplified here. Covid-19 biding to ACE2 receptors disrupts the system, leading to endothelial dysfunction and multiple organ damages characteristic of patients with the disease.

This is not to forget the cytokine storm accompanied by the disease elicited by fever that doesn’t bank down. Therefore those with underlying cardiovascular diseases,
Lungs diseases, e.t.c., would easily succumb to the scourge of the disease and so on.

Let’s talk about 5G and millimeter Wave (mmWave) vis a vis health hazards.

5G simply describe a speed level attained in mobile internet connectivity and nothing more. It is not 10x 4G has your favourite pastor described it because the speed spectrum is within a range, not fixed

mmWave has been used in medicine for treatment across Europe for sometime now and scientific examination has placed the wave frequency within the non-ionized ranged, making it near harmless and if at all it is dangerous, the effect might be cancer related and not virus.

This is why The International Network for Cancer Treatment and Research (INCTR) has been working with the tech company’s to ensure that the physical infrastructure for broadcasting the 5G frequency are safe enough.

Conclusion:
There is no established causation between the installation of 5G towers and the spread of Covid-19. Like other beta CoVs category, Covid-19 is sensitive to UV rays and heat. Better hygiene is the best defense for now. Wash your hands regularly #StayHomeSaveLives
