Am v sympathetic to need for ppl in flats to get outside. But I keep seeing tweets saying worst part of this is lockdown. Do we need footage inside hospitals to ram home the fact people are dying on a scale we can’t fathom? 700 a day. Maybe we need to make this feel more real?
I really hate the stuff policing people in parks, especially in cities that are densely populated with few gardens. But I still worry that the seriousness of this hasn’t quite sunk in for people. And we aren’t getting any images from inside the hospitals - is that a factor?
Every time I lean towards “oh just let them bloody sunbathe, they’re 2 metres away from everyone!”, I read something from an NHS worker who talks about it like they are fighting a war. The cognitive gap between the “frontline” & rest of us feels huge
