So let me get this straight - the problem people have is there’s an “option” that you are “allowed” to go out. The advice is clear - stay at home. The govt haven’t made it law yet, because they hope we’ll use this privilege with respect.
So first, it’s sunny and I get it, the temptation is to go out, sunshine and fresh air is good for us. But if you all hope everyone else is staying at home for you then you’re wrong.
And so the parks and green spaces and even the distant beauty spots get visited.
It sounds like many would rather a clear cut mandate that we cannot leave our homes. But it doesn’t sound like people could manage to do that either.
So, people say they’re struggling with the NOT GOING OUT IDEA and then the parks etc CLOSE.
And of course that’s sad for everyone and disappointing. But let’s think about this another way...
Being able to go to HOSPITAL is a PRIVILEGE. So it’s a straight swap. Shut the parks to keep the hospitals going for longer (we hope).
This isn’t fun or convenient for anyone. No 2 people’s situation is the same. And no one was ready for this. No, we don’t know how to cope. But trying to make yourself the exception to the rule doesn’t help either.
I’d say this whinge/rant was over. But it’s just another voice in the crowd hoping for a nation to be sensible and think bigger than themselves.
Hospitals > parks.
End of.
