Profiteering is bad. It's the worst thing that a business can do during a crisis.
The Excel Centre is owned by ADNEC a state owned entity from Abu Dhabi. The news of them Excel Centre charging the NHS is jarring. But when you look at their Excel Centre's financials they seem to have incurred a cost of £42 Mn (excluding marketing & professional fees) last year
Almost all of that is towards the running of the facility, maintainence, security etc, which I assume is continuing to be incurred. This comes to about £3.5 Mn a month. So if they're charging the NHS £2-3 Mn they are probably covering basic cost of maintainence and wages.
So I don't understand the the uproar. What am I missing? Has something happened in the last 24 hours that the media needs to find some distraction for? Does anyone know? Hmm?
Also this bears repeating, ADNEC is owned by the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, from where Sheikh Mansour hails from. There are those who cannot tell the difference between this man and his Emirate.
