I see many people don't understand what a vaccine is.. I'll try to put it in simple terms. Vaccine is a substance that is injected to a healthy person which contains the pathogen (virus, bacterium fungul etc) in a form that is not harmful to the healthy person or animal. #vaccine
This teaches the healthy body to identify the pathogen when it comes, and how to fight it by producing antibodies that are prepared to fight.. So a vaccine is not made of drugs, so an HIV vaccine will have HIV contents in it, so will the Corona virus.. Now let me be clear 👉...
To develop a vaccine you start from a few labrats, then bigger animals, then you move to human trials.. In each stage you observe those animals and humans for weeks and months. Then you upscale from a few people to like 10 000.. Each stage must be successful before you move on 👉
So if this virus started in December last year... We should expect vaccines sometime in 2021... And with our continent (Africa) having less than 10k cases.. Its not the logical place to test for these vaccines... Europe and USA is the perfect place to start.. That's my take
Are vaccines bad? No not at all... Is rushing to pick a vaccine before enough evidence bad.. Hell yes it's bad... And if you are south African you were vaccinated as a child at 6 weeks.. Agains small pox, polio etc.. That's why you don't look like the photos below. That's polio
