Hello! Due to the coronavirus, the Red Cross has been experiencing a massive shortage of blood donations due to blood drive cancellations. This shortage is affecting patients who need surgery, those who have cancer, and many more. I am wanting to spread awareness and --

potentially find people willing to donate :)

On the AppStore, the American Red Cross has an application that makes it easy for you to sign up as a donor, find out if you're eligible to donate, and set up appointments for donation quickly! -

Plus there's lots of information on the donation process!

On the app, there's an option for people to join "Teams," which is pretty self explanatory, but the cool thing is that it shows how many lives the team as a whole has saved by donating!

SO- I am wanting to create a group for anyone who is interested in donating their blood during this time to help save lives, raise awareness, and help out as much as we can during this blood shortage.

just to clarify- there will be no meetups bc of the virus, anyone who joins will attend the blood drive thats closest to them. There is no date where we will all donate, there's no pressure to donate, just us joining a team and seeing how big of a difference we can make :)

I would also like to add, please don't feel pressured to participate if you're uncomfortable or have been feeling sick in the past couple of weeks, this is just an idea that I had, and it is also to help raise awareness! Stay safe and healthy! <3
