Covid 19, a thread.

I never thought I'd see it. Never thought I'd see people effectively placed under house arrest by our own government.

And the vast majority welcoming it.

Why? Because of a virus that has killed fewer than seasonal flu.

And why is nobody asking what kind of a country we're going to have left after this?

Thousands of shops, pubs, restaurants etc that will never re-open. Hundreds of thousands of jobs lost. Trillions more in national debt.

The post covid recession is going to be apocalyptic!

The civil liberties that you have lost will never be restored, not fully. The British people have demonstrated that they are more than willing to sacrifice their freedom in return for a little phony 'security'.

Certain people will be rubbing their grubby hands in glee.

This country did not shut down when it faced invasion, when it was being bombed on a daily basis. When we almost starved. When V2 missiles rained death down from the skies.

We didn't shut down for Asian flu, Spanish flu, Swine flu or Hong Kong flu.

We have come through terrorism, crippling strikes, previous pandemics, wars, catastrophes and revolutions.

And not once did we place ourselves under house arrest or cower behind closed doors.

But we were a different people then.

Today we are nothing but a consumer herd. Cattle that will tolerate anything. This thread will lose us followers. It may well get our account banned.

So be it.

It's time for people to start asking questions and start doing some research!
