Mr. Senator, I have not received a salary since 2014.

Many of us consultants in PGH do not have salaries. We were just told to accept it because the government "can't do anything about it". https://twitter.com/sotto_tito/status/1246637236797370375
I started working for PGH Derm in 2014. It was only in 2016 when I received my appointment paper from the UP College of Medicine as Clinical Associate Professor.
PGH is the teaching hospital of the UP College of Medicine. It is a government hospital but it's not under DOH. It gets its budget from the UP System.
As a Clinical Associate Professor I have two major roles:

1. Teach the students of the UP College of Medicine
2. Teach the residents of the PGH Dept of Derm
Let me zero in on my role in PGH Derm. I supervise...

✅the residents in their academic and clinical requirements

✅the mgmt of patients

✅the physical maintenance of our clinic (tubig, aircon, computers, tables, pest control, etc)

✅the FB page of the Dept

...and more
Now, together with our brilliant derm residents, I am part of the PGH COVID IEC Team which produces the advisories and infographics coming from PGH. Since March 12 we have been waking up at 7:30 and sleeping around 1am to finish our tasks for the day.
Where do I get money if I don't have salary from PGH?

I hold clinic at Qualimed Manila, formerly known as the PGH Faculty Medical Arts Building. It's a private facility inside PGH. Only PGH faculty can practice here.

Now it's closed because of the pandemic. So, no money.
I am just one of the MANY in PGH who are working selflessly to help produce excellent HCWs who will be clinicians, policy experts, researchers, scientists, teachers, etc, to help give better health services to the Filipinos.

That's our commitment.

Para sa bayan.
Mr. Senator, maybe you can take a look at our contributions. If you think we are giving valuable service, please help us sustain our efforts.

I thank you for giving up your salary. But I would appreciate it more if you will lead the Senate in ensuring we will have ours.
