Not true.

Ramanand Sagar's Ramayana may have been very much inspired by Ramcharitmanas ( as it was also by Valmiki Ramayana), but the script is his own.

Many episodes in Ramanand Sagar's Ramayana are not found in Ramcharitmanas and differ from it at various instances. https://twitter.com/amatya18/status/1246685200681029633
For example, Ramanand Sagar himself said he added an episode about Bharata that was not present in Ramcharitmanas and made a point about voting to "bring in our time".

He also slightly changed the episode of Sita's exile "placate the feminists" who had criticized his serial
At any rate, a poll conducted on the basis of (if at all) a regional Ramayana has to qualify its question with at least an 'according to'.

Especially given the fact that several other regional Ramayanas have themselves followed narrative of Valmiki when it comes to this episode
While Ramacharitmanas is extremely popular and exerted massive cultural influence on Indians , its narratives written in Avadhi are not very well known in many regions of India, particularly in the south due to the language barrier and availability of other regional Ramayanas
