sometimes when times are bad, I watch @TWRPband perform Digital Love at the Electric Factory and feel better
I know it might seem silly to some, but it makes me think about that episode of Lost "Greatest Hits" where Charlie thinks about the best moments of his life... being at that show was honestly one of mine
lol remember that time twrp and nsp performed at Magfest... my gawd
the first half of 2016 was a hell of a year, probably the last good (half of a ) year I've had since????? hahahahaha

speaking of magfest... @Skatunenetwork was AMAZING... honestly that performance made 2020 mag the BEST I've ever been to, so now I'm gonna live tweet (portions) of it until I get too tired and fall asleep!
lol opening w/ green hill zone was glorious??? and of course it's an all star cast of amazing musicians... I had waited for this show for LITERALLY A YEAR AND A HALF and to see all those amazing people standing up there on stage during my favorite con of the year...
it's an experience I won't forget for a LONG, LONG time
btw skatune network has a cool trombone and I know cause I used to play (bass) trombone
like how have I gone to Magfest since 2016 and NEVER seen a ska band performing there??? has there been one and I just didn't know? that's very possible because @MAGFest is an extremely packed show
lol I'm not a huge Blink 182 fan, but when Skatune Network covers them it makes me hella nostalgic for when I was 15 and tbh that's a difficult thing to accomplish cause I HATED high school
lol next is pokemans, it's a hella good cover and it was super fun to dance to... my gosh skanking at MAGFest was just so fun, again how had it been so long with NO ska bands??? I guess ska is just such a unique and niche thing now???
the crowd was SUPER awesome and REALLY into it??? honestly maybe a little too into haha yes ive turned into that elitist ska dingus who only wants 3 people in the circle at a time??? but no people were super into it and that was awesome
even though there was what? a couple hundred people? it reminded me a LOT of the shows I used to go to where there were THOUSANDS of people... the circle was PACKED and people were having FUN
I was one of the people that helped initially open up the circle???? that was super fun haha, there was one other dude who knew what was hip and then everyone started dancin
and now it's one of the songs from zelda 2 that famous one? honestly it fits really well into a ska cover? or maybe skatune just does a really really good job of making covers????
lol the friggin arthur cover... it was so good, so much heart???? like you could tell they weren't doing it just for the meme????it was really fun to dance to!
also @Skatunenetwork is really good at skanking tbh...
this is one of the points in the video you can see people dancin in the crowd.. I know I'm in the somewhere!!! also love that person in the red shirt, they're a steven universe fan!
hahahaha people chanting about whiteclaw, and skatune talking about how mag is "respectfully lawless" then people doing the collassas roar o lawd
THIS was on of my FAVORITE numbers the night???? MY SHINY TEETH AND ME.... FOR GAWD SAKES PEOPLE SUB TO SKATUNE NETWORK
like again I know I probably sound hella silly but... it's actually a REALLY good cover and they are SO into it, SUPER fun to be in that crowd... geez what a good time I'm getting emotional thinking about it!
I never ever thought I'd hear a sick ass trombone solo during my shiny teeth and me, trumpet solo neither
HERE IS MY FAVORITE PART OF THE SHOW
THE AMAZING KEYBOARDIST STARTS DOING AN AMAZING AMAZING AMAZING COVER OF GIANT WOMAN AND I LOST. MY. SHIT. AND NOW IM LOSING IT AGAIN
I wish I knew their twitter handle so I could tag them??? because my lawd this was amazing.... like I was seriously losing it and trying to sing along but I kept crying so I couldn't????
and then on top of that hearing one of my favorite songs from my very most favorite show sung and performed by some of the most extremely cool people on earth...
and then another really good cover, The Island Adventure from Adventure Time! I hope if they perform at MAG they do these covers again because this is some special, special shit
back to video game covers! nothing wrong with that! here's a wonderful cover of The Lost Woods from Zelda, a crowd favorite!
okay time for sleep will continue tomorrow!!!!!!!!
okay back on iiiiiiiit
gourmet race was so fuuuuuuuuuun, and the cover weirdly sounds like Streetlight Manifesto a little?
gourmet race was so fuuuuuuuuuun, and the cover weirdly sounds like Streetlight Manifesto a little?
also a reaaaaally good song for soloing over
lol @Skatunenetwork is hella good at soloing... hahaha pachelbel's canon I see you
lol this riDICUOUSLY GOOD COVER OF SMASH MOUTH SOMEHOW, THE HECK????????
like it was both a meme and a really fun song and good time???????? it was a spiritual experience
btw the circle was tearing it up at this point, in a non ironic manner
the people in the front row are awesome no joke
it's just so awesome to see everyone on the stage just rocking out
next is megalovania which is OBVIOUSLY gonna be a hella crowd favorite, people singing along, once again an awesome trombone solo
I think this was one of the covers that fit the best??? its just so catch and fast and "punk ska" already its like what else do you have to do besides add that ska guitar riff ya know? look at me music theorying
again reminding me a lot of streetlight now that I think about it okay I forgot @Skatunenetwork does a legit streetlight riff in there which is fine with me. probably lost it there in the crowd
SICK guitar solo here
city escape was sooooooooooooooooOOOOOOD good, obviously it fits w/ ska , this was SO fun my lawd
skatune's cover of dammit is REALLY good and it was a super fun way to end the show
my ONLY criticism??? no ska halation!!! but tbh I'm not sure how it would have played with this crowd? mag can be super up or down on anime so who knows, but it would have been awesome; tbh between that and Giant Woman I probably would have straight died so maybe this is best!
oh man people are just ROCKING out to dammit... seriously if you somehow come across this thread and have not watched the concert, please treat yo self
gosh I hope skatune is back at next year's magfest. what a magical experience. thank you
