#coronavirusindia has shed a lot of light on the efforts of #doctors & #Medical staff trying to combat it. But sometimes, doctors don't flourish because of the system, they do well in spite of it. What does this mean? Take a look at the following numbers:

2/n Acc. to a @BrookingsIndia estimate, there are lesser than 1 bed per person in govt hospitals

3/n As per the @WHO , we are one of the lowest spending countries on #healthcare , if looked at as a % of GDP.

4/n Even though the #BJP govt has pledged to invest 2.5% of GDP into healthcare by 2025, it will still fall significantly short of the global average

5/n With respect to #Covid19India , we're dangerously short of medical equipment, from testing kits to ventilators.
