Firstly I would like to address those of you who like to parade TASM Or MCU Spidey, or even Raimi Spidey as bad adaptations of the character, or insult those who like them, or if you insult those who don’t like them. Shut the fuck up.
Whether or not someone enjoys something you do, should not hinder or enhance your enjoyment of that thing. The division and infighting in the community is not what Spider-Man or Superman or Batman represent. Yeah I’m calling out DC Twitter too.
These characters who’ve inspired and meant so much to millions of people should not be treated with this amount of disrespect. The spirit and meaning of these characters get lost more and more everyday and I breaks my heart. Spider-Man has saved my life-
and the lives of countless others, and it doesn’t matter which interpretation it was, or which interpretation it is. What matters is that the ideals and values of these characters get passed on. We will always need heroes, and they will always come in different forms.
That IS why these characters exist now and why they will continue to for decades to come. A part of me knows that this community will never change for the better, but a small part of me hopes it will, and that’s a hope we should all cling to.
That hope needs to return to all of Comic and CBM Twitter, so with that said I’ve got one last thing to say.
