Remember Garden Vareli prints? So gorgeous, the colours! (Thought of them because sometimes these nature photos on my TL make me think of their prints. So nature-evocative.)
Now looking at old saree ads. The colours! The prints! https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="😭" title="Loudly crying face" aria-label="Emoji: Loudly crying face">https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="♄" title="Heart suit" aria-label="Emoji: Heart suit">
Amma loved these Vareli prints (low-maintenance; perfect for a working woman) and so many of my childhood memories involve these colours as a beacon of comfort and familiarity. There was this green and yellow poppy-print saree that I LOVED and hoped I& #39;d wear when I grew up, and
heart slightly broke when she gave it away to someone else with my permission. I don& #39;t wear saris enough to justify keeping them when someone else could use them better. But that print I& #39;ll never forget.
