I'm still confused, but I need to talk about Dark Acolyte...or...Troupple Acolyte. Beware of my poor English. #ShovelKnight

In KoC, he listened the Enchantress' terrible plan, and aided to beat her. (but it was failed, you know) In KoC ending, she came to the Troupple Pond and....maybe she invited the Acolytes. One of the Acolytes followed her......that was Dark Acolyte.
Why did he follow her? He certainly feared her, and tried to beat her. When did his mind change? In SoT, he didn't seem to be brainwashed....like Reize. Because he raised rebellion against her after his jailbreak. He seemed to have his own will.
She only gave him a dark-magical power? He was attracted the power? Hmmmm I don't know at all.... Time to use my ugly imagination?
I want him to do with his own will. Because.... "Forced Donovan", "Brainwashed Reize" and "Willed Acolyte". They served her with different reasons. That's beautiful, isn't that?
When he listened her evil plan, also an evil impulse arised in him? When he saw her strong power, he wanted to be like her? Or he wanted to serve stronger person....not like the god of that small pond?
In any case, I want him to have his own will. And I want to call him "The rotten apple".
P.S. In KoC ending, one of Manny (or Legion) brought an apple core between Dark Acolyte and Missy. I thought it means that they become Troupple Acolytes. But....an apple core was one of "rotten food for Specter" in SoT. So.... it means that Dark Acolyte had been corrupted person?
How About Missy!? What is her, Where did she come from, and Where has she gone!? YCG said she didn't become the female Troupple Acolyte, then......then...... AAAAAAGHHHHHH!!!!!
