rewatching THE SOUND OF MUSIC as an adult means I realize how the Baroness really got the short end of the stick in this whole situation

she HAD plenty of money, she just wanted to marry an insanely hot guy. and she gets ditched for a woman with a mushroom haircut wearing curtains. we all love Maria, but get real

at least she has the best style in the movie - in ANY movie - and apparently gets Max in the non-divorce, even if he’s vaguely a Nazi sympathizer

she is also WILDLY gracious about the breakup and encourages Georg to go after Maria! I would have broken some of his expensive crystal and yet she is just above that somehow!!! we stan a badass Baroness queen!!!!!

also Georg immediately - IMMEDIATELY - goes to the gazebo to seduce Maria after the breakup. first, when did the gazebo turn into the estate’s Bone Zone, and second, can you let the Baroness pack her sequins and leave before you start making out with Maria? show some respect, man

that being said I get where Maria is coming from, because Captain von Trapp is not a snack, he is a five course meal

nuns across the globe would burn their habits for one night with Christopher Plummer in his prime. even Mother Superior agrees. prove me wrong

never forget that Plummer spent the entire shoot of this film trying to nail Liesl, his on screen daughter
