Is it just me, or does Josuke seem really insecure? The “don’t talk about my hair” tic really screams “I’m projecting all of my insecurities onto one prominent trait about myself”. I wonder if he knows he’s more than just his hair...

I get that he’s got this sort of confusing, goofy exterior, but someone who fusses that much about a singular part of their appearance has to be worrying deep in there. He’s a 16 year old, man, and I’ve worked with a lot of kids that age; he’s got something uncomfortable inside.

He’s got a single mom and an aging grandfather. He’s a bit of a dumb kid, sure, but my bet is that Josuke puts a lot of pressure on himself to be perky and confident for his mom. I think Josuke is full of things that he keeps neatly under wraps. That’s my guess.

I don’t get the carefree through and through vibe from him. He seems like a teenage boy trying desperately to stay cool, but if you sit him down and give him a long while to say what’s wrong, he’s gonna buckle eventually. I feel like fanon misses a lot of that internal hurt. EOT.
