To be honest, the reason why President Nelson's talk bothered me was because of the implicit messages it carried about God. I don't want to believe in a God that cares more about labels and logos than human suffering in the world and church specifically.

I don't really want to believe that God will suddenly control the pandemic, protect all caretakers, and strengthen the economy once his children go without food and water for 24 hours.

If God has that much control, why wait for us to starve ourselves temporarily? #LDSConf

Coming together in unity of faith during a difficult time is a wonderful idea, but I just get huge problem of evil vibes under the surface and it makes me uncomfortable that it isn't addressed at all.

It's tragic to me because there was very little comfort given regarding the crisis and it feels like it was implied that this wouldn't be happening (or will stop happening) if we just "have more faith."

Faith looks like social distancing.

Faith looks like donations.

Faith looks like supporting caretakers in tangible ways.

Faith looks like paying your barber even when you don't get your hair cut.

Faith can look like fasting too, but I wish he was more specific. #LDSConf
