I've been editing art to make it a little relatable in today's #COVID2019 #CoronaCrisis. Starting with this piece: The Social Distancing of Adam. #ISOArt
Michelangelo really gets that whole social distancing thing. Everyone would normally stand around David, but with the mask on, he's protected.
You can see this social distancing beginning to catch on. Even though we're not all doing it, Degas made a mark with his piece "Dancers Practicing Social Distancing At The Barre".
Da Vinci even tried the social distancing thing. So much that it may have affected his understanding of proportions.
Distancing isn't only affecting how we talk. These days, love is at a distance, too.
Social distancing probably means you're spending #COVID2019 at home, but if you're out and about, hopefully it's quieter, like in Seurat's "A Quiet Sunday On La Grande Jatte".
Of course, there are other ways to stay safe. Not touching your face is one of the best ways to do it. You can still scream, just don't, you know, touch your face.
The more you choose not to stay home, the more governments will close things up. All the nice places will soon have police tape on them, even Monet painted in "Closed Bridge Over A Pond Of Lillies".
Good news: if you do wear a mask, it doesn't have to stop you from wearing pearl earrings. Thanks, Vermeer.
Little known fact: Lichtenstein didn't just use Ben Day dots; he also used appropriate face wear during the coronavirus crisis.
Ensuring you're keeping your hands clean is a good idea. Pompeo Batoni gets the message loud and clear.
Whatever you do: don't horde. Look at this piece of work, This Son of a Hoarding Man. Plenty of toilet paper, and hides his face with an apple. Crazy.
Sidney Nolan knew better. He knew Ned Kelly would retrieve from hoarders, and hopefully give it all back.
An unfortunate fallout from this whole thing is cafes and restaurants going dark. The Night Cafe is Closed, and we're all poorer for it.
If you can, support a local that you love by ordering take out or delivery, otherwise the Nighthawks Will Be No More.
