The daily mortality surveillance system in Spain has been tracking the actual mortality burden of the epidemic in Spain (as opposed to confirmed cases that have died). Castilla y Leon, that used to have around 60 deaths a day, went up to 200 last week. In the March 18-April 2 period, they estimated a 146% increase in deaths
Castilla-La Mancha, with around 50 a week previous years, went up to >200. In the Mar 14-April 1 period, 185% increase
Madrid, peaked at 400 two weeks ago from an average of ~110 in previous years. From Mar 10 to Mar 28, a 110% increase in mortality. Keep in mind Madrid has been struggling to keep up with registering deaths (see previous reports, and even the decrease in mortality here):
