April 5th 1957 : World's First democratically elected Communist Govt is formed in Kerala.

EMS Namboodiripad takes oath as Kerala CM and the news sent shockwaves across the world. The Oath got headlines in many International Newspapers.

"The success of the Communists (CPI) in Kerala in 1957 'Rang alarm bells in Washington,' and CIA was entrusted with an operation to dislodge the Communists from power."

The CIA also played an active role during the Telangana Rebellion. CIA believed that if the Nizam was overthrown, Hyderabad would fall into the hands of communists in 1948.
