Intern's log. Date: 4/3/20.
What a nightmare. Adult deaths at ~1/hr. In the midst of all the RRTs, code 99s and stat intubations on the loudspeaker, the newborn song played 3 times. Every time it played I looked up and closed my eyes searching for a glimpse of hope.

Worked every time. I am mainly working in the peds ED, but step in to give a hand at the adult side when time allows.
Kids come in pretty freaked out, looking at all the people in masks and PPE, as well as all the stretchers with sick people lining up the halls.

I decided to change things up a bit and put on my unicorn cloth mask over my N95. It worked. Got smiles from all the kids I saw today, and a couple of laughs from my colleagues. Will do this from now on. Hope it continues to help.
