1. Sin hardens your heart.

“Take care, brethren, that there not be in any one of you an evil, unbelieving heart that falls away from the living God... so that none of you will be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin.” - Hebrews 3:12-13

But your iniquities have made a separation between you and your God, And your sins have hidden His face from you so that He does not hear. - Isaiah 59:2
3. Sin steals your strength, virtue, power, and drive.

For my life is spent with sorrow and my years with sighing; My strength has failed because of my iniquity, and my body has wasted away. - Psalms 31:10
5. Sin opens the door to a multitude of affliction.

Afterward Jesus findeth him in the temple, and said unto him, Behold, thou art made whole: sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee. - John 5:14
4. When you sin, you become its slave.

Jesus answered them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, everyone who commits sin is the slave of sin. - John 8:34
3. Jesus died just so we would no longer be a slave to sin.

Knowing this, that our old self was crucified with Him, in order that our body of sin might be done away with, so that we would no longer be slaves to sin; for he who has died is freed from sin. - Romans 6:6-7
2. Through Christ we are empowered to let go of bad habits, addictions, tendencies, and weaknesses.

“Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come.” - 2 Corinthians 5:17
